NIDIA MEDINA

Nidia Medina (she/her) is a theater producer and artist who was worked professionally in many aspects of non-profit theater over the last 18 years. She currently serves as Producing Director of INTAR Theatre, where she was previously Associate Artistic Director, producing the award-winning run of Vámonos by Julissa Contreras. Recently she has also worked with WP Theater as Artistic Producer, leading the charge on the wildly successful run of Sancocho by Christin Eve Cato, and served as Interim Producing Director at The TEAM, artistically helmed by Rachel Chavkin. Other producing positions include Line Producer at The Public Theater, Associate Producer and Director of the Studio at Theatre for a New Audience, Special Projects Producer at WP Theater, and more. She has produced everything from Shakespeare in the Park, to a film, to an international tour, to boundary-pushing off-Broadway shows in some of New York’s most prestigious houses with some of theater’s most brilliant creative minds.  In addition to her producing work, Nidia is also a writer, performer, director, and curator. She holds a BFA in Acting from Emerson College and a Master’s in Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute.

ALEJANDRA MALDONADO

Alejandra is a well-rounded theatre person with experience in stage and production management, acting, designing and direction. Recent works include Awilda Rodriguez’s El Velorio de la Comay (BAAD-NY), Aravind Adyanthaya’s The Story of the Woman of the Sea (Casa Cruz de la Luna, Clemente Soto Vélez-NY), ALL THAT DIES AND RISES (M-34, IATI Theater-NY), Hageografías (Casa Cruz de la Luna, Pregones-NY), Venus y el Albañil (Loisaida Center-NY & Casa Cruz de la Luna-PR), The Maids (One-Eight, INTAR Theatre-NY), The Marquis De Sade is Afraid of the Sea (Casa Cruz de la Luna, INTAR Theater-NY), Zoetrope (Caborca, Cuba), Native Nation (Cornerstone Theater, ASU-AZ), La Mujer Maravilla (Hudson Church-NY), Oso Fabuloso & the Bear Backs (McKittrick Hotel) & FUERZAfest (Hispanic Federation-NYC), among others. Development Management

LAURA MARTÍNEZ

Laura Mercedes Martínez (she/her) moved to New York City from Puerto Rico to get her MFA in Theater from Columbia University. She started her development career at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center in Allentown, PA. In 2022, she moved back to New York City to work in non-profit theater fundraising. She is beyond excited to join her latino community as Development Manager at INTAR.


Finance Manager

JEFF BERZON

Jeff has been working in theatre for close to 50 years. After college he started working in regional theatre in NJ before taking his first job Off-Off Broadway in NYC in 1980. He has since worked in all areas of production including lighting, set construction, technical direction and production management. From the mid 80’s to early 90’s Jeff worked as the Production Manager for an Off-Broadway theatre company. Following that, he was the production manager and later became the business manager for a NYC scene shop. In 1997, Jeff started his own bookkeeping business serving artists, not-for-profits and other clientele. That year he received a call from Intar asking him to help on an audit. He has been at Intar ever since serving as their Finance Manager. Intar gave Jeff the theatre home he had been looking for and is honored to be a part of this amazing organization.

JOSEPH DISTL

Joseph is a queer Puerto Rican theater artist from Queens with dreams to produce unconventional theater for unconventional audiences. They are a UNIT52 alum from the 2019 cohort. Joseph has worked at INTAR in several capacities from performer to stage manager. Some INTAR credits include Julio Ain't Goin' Down Like That, ¡Oso Fabulous & The Bearbacks!, Truckers, and The Hours are Feminine. Joseph would like to remind everyone that theater can be used as a force of activism. Take the time to celebrate and uplift marginalized communities that are losing their rights everyday. We are stronger together!

CANCEL POMALES

Designer/performer born in Puerto Rico and resident in Brooklyn, NY. Studied Stage Design and Technical Theater at CUNY Brooklyn College, he’s currently INTAR’s Technical Director and member of Casa Cruz de la Luna since 2007. Constantly collaborating with groups like Cloud of Fools, One-Eighth Theater, M34, Pregones/PRTT, Caborca, Walk Up Arts, Drama of Works, among others. Recent works include Javier Antonio González Zoetrope (Caborca), Aravind Adyanthaya’s The Story of the Woman of the Sea, Hagiografias & The Marquis de Sade is Afraid of the Sea(Casa Cruz de la Luna), Daniel Irizarry’s The Maids and Madman and the Nun(One-Eighth), Europa,

JESSE CASTELLANOS

Jesse Castellanos is a NYC actor and has been INTAR’s Marketing Manager since 2022. He is grateful to be working with INTAR where he can express his passion for theatre and uplifting unrepresented stories. Recent works include Truckers (INTAR) Tammany Hall (Soho Playhouse) Congrats to Me (The Tank). Regional, Torera. (Alley Theatre) and The Giant Void In My Soul (Luna Stage). Jesse holds a BFA in Acting from Montclair State University.

DANNY GÓMEZ

Danny Gómez is a Colombian-American performer from Queens, New York, dedicated to showcasing the Latiné experience. An alumnus of LaGuardia, Neighborhood Playhouse's Meisner Technique program, and Shakespeare & Company’s Intensive, he made his Off-Broadway debut in 2023 at INTAR Theatre. Recent credits include With Deepest Regrets, Lupe Vélez (INTAR), Bargaining Chip (New Perspectives), How to Feel Without Touching (Chain), A Boy Called Lobo (INTAR), Ogallala (Under St Marks), But Soft (Barrow Group), Aliens of Extraordinary Abilities (The Tank), and Sonnets for an Old Century (INTAR). Box Office Manager 

VASILIOS LEON

Vasilios Leon (They/Them) is a Queer Artist born and raised in Queens where they earned an A.S. in Theatre at Queensborough Community College under the mentorship of C. Julian Jiménez. Vasilios is a proud Alumné of INTAR’s Unit 52, a pop-up poet, practicing playwright, aspiring director. Currently they're a working House Manager with a passion for welcoming all walks of life into the world of Theatre and maintaining accessible spaces. Their foremost achievements include being invited to develop and present a reading of LLERMO by Jesús I. Valles (MTC), collaborating with fellow Unit 52 Alums in a production of Sonnets for an Old Century by José Rivera (INTAR). Vasilios has also worked on; Julio Ain’t Goin’ Down Like That as J. Heights (INTAR), ¡Oso Fabuloso & The BearBacks! as Gummy (Joe’s Pub, Mini-Tour). The Navigator as Pa’Ching/Yuya with Hurray For the Riff Raff (Joe’s Pub). FUN With Panic Attacks! RENÉE LAVALLE

Actor, puppeteer, and marketing specialist Renée Lavalle is an award-winning performer and educator with an international career spanning theatre, television, commercial media, and nonprofit outreach. Trained at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in New York City, her credits include co-starring in the Emmy®-nominated television series Hasta Que Te Conocí, appearing in the national bilingual advertising campaign for McDonald’s El Spicy Menu, starring in the award-winning commercial Así Somos for the New York Latino Film Festival, and featuring in the official music video for I’d Rather Be Me from Mean Girls: The Musical. She originated a role in the published play Julio Ain’t Goin’ Down Like That at INTAR Theatre. Beyond stage and screen, Renée has worked in marketing for nonprofits and NGOs.
